“I got a love that keeps me waiting…”
I love, love, love The Black Keys. I’m trying to be patient for the new album, but December 6th is almost too long to wait. Until then, I’m going to jam out to this first listen of “Lonely Boy.”
EL CAMINO on DECEMBER 6, 2011!

Day 30: Your Favorite Song at This Time Last Year
Shadow People by Dr. Dog
I had a lot of fun with this 30 Day Song Challenge. It reminded me why I love the songs I do; they’ve become a part of me and my life adventures. Shadow People is an amazing song, and it was even more amazing live last November. My favorite show that I went to last year was the Dr. Dog show featured in this video.

Day 29 A Song From Your Childhood
For Baby (For Bobby) by John Denver
My Mum used to sing this to her babies.

Day 28: A Song That Makes You Feel Guilty
Landslide performed by The Smashing Pumpkins (Fleetwood Mac Cover)
This song always reminds me that I need to call my sister more. This is one Stevie Nicks/Fleetwood Mac cover that we approve of. Enjoy while I call my sister…

Day 27: A Song That You Wish You Could Play
Please Baby Please by David Bazan
I don’t play any instruments, but if I ever learned guitar, I would have to learn this song, as well many of the other David Bazan songs.

Day 26: A Song That You Can Play on an Instrument
Greensleeves on Piano
I do not play instruments, at least not for very long. However, when I was 13 I taught myself (by ear) to play Greensleeves on piano. Why? I don’t even know. In this video, the little girl’s obvious disdain for the song cracks me up.

Day 25: A Song That Makes You Laugh
Boombox by The Lonely Island (feat. Julian Casablancas)
Almost anything by The Lonely Island cracks me up. I particular love that this video features Julian Casablancas of The Strokes… YOU KNOW WHY.

Day 24: A Song That You Want to Play at Your Funeral
Bad Days by The Flaming Lips
I’d much rather have a party than a funeral. I think I would like to be cremated too. I don’t want my remains placed in an urn to be held on to either. I want my ashes to be let go in someplace beautiful.
I love The Flaming Lips. Bad Days is a song that reminds you that the good days will return. Let go of the bad days. In the same sense, I want the people who love me to acknowledge that I lived my life the way I wanted to; I don’t want them to always be sad. I want them to let me go.

Day 23 A Song You Want to Play at Your Wedding
Marry Song by Band of Horses
I do not know who I’m going to marry or if I even really want to. However this video is really sweet. The groom proposed to his bride at a Band of Horses show. Either by fate or coincidence, the band was able to perform at their wedding as a surprise. I’m happy for these strangers for having such an awesome wedding.

Day 22: A Song You Listen to When You’re Sad
Empty by Ray LaMontagne
For me, being sad is the most physically draining emotion. Every part of my body aches. Every time I’m sad it feels like such a foreign emotion that I am surprised by how sad I can get. When I’m sad it is so hard to hold on to what’s good, and I find myself thinking, “how long is this going to hurt?” That’s when I play this song.
Will I always feel this way?
So empty, so estranged?Hearing what I’m thinking in these lyrics always reminds me that the sadness doesn’t last. This song also reminds me that it’s OK to be this vulnerable; I won’t always feel so bad.
